Informal Economy and Tax Compliance Cost Brainstorming Workshop

In the scope of "Technical Assistance for Fight Against Informal Economy and Improvement of Administrative Capacity of the Turkish Revenue Administration" Project implemented by CFCU, TRA and PwC, a workshop was held in July 2016 at Sapanca NG Hotel with the participation of credible academicians, staff of TEPAV, PwC Turkey and PwC UK.


During the workshop, the progress with regards to measure informal economy in Turkey and tax compliance costs was discussed; methodology to be used for measurement and draft surveys were evaluated. Austrian Prof. Friedrich Schneider who has conducted significant studies regarding measurement of informal economy contributed to the workshop via tele-conference.

In the end of the workshop which was evaluated as very beneficial, preparation process with regards to measurement of informal economy and voluntary tax compliance was completed.
